Founded in 1887, Celtic is a football club that we Irish and our Diaspora can proudly call our own. It is our legacy, left to us by the courage and vision of Irish immigrants into Glasgow from their native Ireland, a country crippled by famine and political unrest at the time.

The club enjoyed their greatest successes during the 1960s and 70s under Jock Stein. In the 1966–67 season alone, Celtic became the first British team to win the European Cup also winning the Scottish league championship the Scottish Cup the League Cup and the Glasgow Cup. Celtic also reached the 1970 European Cup Final and the 2003 UEFA Cup Final, where an estimated 80,000 fans travelled to Seville for the final.

In all, Celtic have won the Scottish league championship 49 times, the Scottish Cup 38 times and the Scottish League Cup 17 times.

Famed for their emerald green and white scarves, the Celtic fan club can boast over 160 Celtic supporters’ clubs in over 20 countries. Its fans have a reputation that is as lofty as the club's feats. They are famed as a uniquely respectful group who sing and support their team through thick and thin, win, lose or draw.

They are always there, which is one of the reasons why Celtic Park consistently enjoys one of the most electric environs in European football by some distance.
